The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting delicious sushi dishes that delight our customers while ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes in accordance with restaurant standards. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and create innovative sushi offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Assist in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service to clients. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders when necessary. Skills Proficient in knife skills and culinary techniques specific to sushi preparation. Strong knowledge of food safety practices within the food industry. Experience in meal preparation, including menu planning for various dietary preferences. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Previous experience in food service or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required.
