Tuscan Gardens of Venetia Bay is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will play a vital role in assisting the Food Service Manager with various kitchen operations, including cooking, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Food Service Manager in daily kitchen operations and menu planning
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee food preparation and ensure that all meals are prepared in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
- Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and seasonal menu items
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
