The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine and a strong background in food preparation and service. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards for taste, presentation, and freshness. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Prepare and present sushi dishes according to traditional Japanese methods and restaurant recipes. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service during peak hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating special requests. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food service or restaurant industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making. Familiarity with various types of fish, seafood, and other ingredients used in sushi. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to help others in the kitchen as needed. A passion for fine dining experiences and commitment to culinary excellence. Previous experience in catering or dietary departments is a plus but not required.
