We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role supports the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, execution, quality control, and sanitation. The Sous Chef plays a key leadership role—supervising line operations, mentoring kitchen staff, and helping to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests. Responsibilities Assist in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities for all dining venues and special events. Ensure food is prepared and presented in accordance with club quality standards and recipes. Supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and stewards; provide training, coaching, and performance feedback. Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste to control food and labor costs. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations. Act as kitchen leads in the absence of the Executive Chef. Collaborate on menu development, daily specials, and seasonal offerings. Ensure consistent portion control and food presentation standards. Assist with scheduling and timekeeping for back-of-house staff. Foster a positive and professional team environment. Skills Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume Country Club. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a private club, hotel, or upscale restaurant. Prior supervisory or Sous Chef experience required. Strong knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe certification preferred). Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
