The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sushi preparation and presentation, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing sushi dishes that delight our customers. Duties Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Ensure the highest level of food safety and hygiene practices in compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain inventory of ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality while minimizing waste. Assist in the training of kitchen staff on proper sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices. Monitor food preparation processes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. Stay updated on current trends in sushi cuisine to innovate and enhance menu offerings. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, particularly in sushi preparation and presentation. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for Japanese cuisine and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Previous experience as a dietary aide or within a dietary department is a plus but not required.
