The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation and presentation. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation. Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop innovative menu items that reflect current trends in sushi cuisine. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as necessary. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients to enhance offerings. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating special dietary requests. Qualifications Proven experience in the food service industry, specifically in sushi preparation or similar culinary roles. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within a restaurant environment. Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on attention to detail in presentation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining quality standards. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. Experience in menu planning is a plus but not required. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning in the field.
