Sous Chef Fleur De Lis Catering New Orleans, LA 70115 Job Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining food safety standards. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong background in culinary arts. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in menu planning and execution while supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen activities. Duties Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and staff management. Help with menu planning, including creating new dishes and updating existing recipes. Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety regulations. Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed. Supervise food production processes to ensure consistency and quality of dishes. Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and proper equipment usage. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area. Qualifications Proven experience in a food service or restaurant environment, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar role. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Experience in menu planning and inventory control is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences.
