Bird & Co. at 539 Deering Avenue is hiring a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team. We are a fast growing company near Woodfords Corner – one of Portland’s busiest neighborhoods. At least 1 year of experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry preparation and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all desserts meet our high standards of quality and presentation. Duties Prepare a variety of desserts according to established recipes and standards. Prioritize precision, ensuring visual appeal. Assist in food preparation for other menu items as needed, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Package finished products as needed, ensuring freshness and quality. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of stations, including proper storage of ingredients. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and communicate needs to management. Skills Proficient in pastry techniques. Experience in a restaurant or food industry environment is required. Familiarity with kitchen equipment, including knives and baking tools. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
