Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and culinary-driven chef to join our team at Twisted Tavern St. Peters, an intimate and contemporary bistro dedicated to delivering fresh, high-quality, and thoughtfully prepared dishes. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for executing the vision of the Tavern with a focus on creativity, seasonal ingredients, and exceptional flavor profiles. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a chef to showcase their skills while collaborating with a tight-knit team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a menu with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Create and refine recipes, ensuring each dish is innovative, visually appealing, and true to the Twisted Tavern’s concept. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring adherence to all safety and sanitation regulations. Oversee and participate in daily food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring consistent quality and presentation of all dishes. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and front-of-house staff to create a memorable guest experience. Lead by example, mentoring junior kitchen staff and fostering a positive, team-oriented atmosphere. Keep up-to-date with food trends and techniques to continuously elevate the menu and overall dining experience. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering food supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimal waste. Assist in managing kitchen staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure timely execution of orders while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a chef in a fast-paced kitchen, preferably in a bistro or fine dining environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, modern plating, and flavor combinations. A deep passion for food, ingredients, and the art of cooking. Creative and forward-thinking with the ability to conceptualize and execute innovative dishes. Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing a team. Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and maintain a high standard of performance. Knowledge of kitchen safety, cleanliness, and food handling regulations. Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
