The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with a focus on sushi preparation and presentation. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a crucial role in menu planning and ensuring that each dish meets our high standards of quality and taste. Responsibilities Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes according to traditional recipes and modern techniques. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop innovative sushi menu items that align with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times. Manage inventory of sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality while minimizing waste. Assist in training kitchen staff on proper sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests about menu offerings and accommodating special requests. Maintain equipment, tools, and workstations in optimal condition for efficient meal preparation. Skills Proficiency in knife skills and various cooking techniques specific to sushi preparation. Strong understanding of food service operations within a restaurant or catering environment. Experience with meal planning and food preparation for large groups or events is a plus. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food presentation. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and interaction with customers. A passion for the culinary arts, particularly in Japanese cuisine, along with a willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
