Pastry Chef 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 601 Calvert Street, Charlotte, NC 28208 Job Description We are looking for a skilled Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and other goods for offsite catering events. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts, with a passion for delicious baked goods. They will be expected to adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible experience.

Pastry Chef Responsibilities:

Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes. Creating new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers. Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting. Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make culinary leaders aware of needed ingredients. Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently. Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards. Able to recognize superior quality products, presentations and flavors. Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively. Requirements Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role. Great attention to detail and creativity. Organizing and leadership skills. Willingness to learn and share knowledge with team. In depth knowledge of sanitation requirements, food preparation and baking techniques and nutritional aspects of prepared food Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.) Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field Education High school diploma or 3 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
