The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both culinary vision and kitchen management; and will posses a focus on creating locally sourced, Southern inspired, dishes that have made us a local institution since 1997. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and leading a team of culinary professionals. Duties Develop and prepare new dishes for our rotating “Chalkboard Menu” in addition to our main menu. Manage kitchen operations, including inventory & cost control, staff training and mentoring, food handling, and maintaining high standards of culinary fulfillment. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to recipes. Monitor food safety practices and ensure compliance with health regulations. Create seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining the restaurant’s unique style and coastal location. Conduct regular inventory to manage supplies and minimize waste. Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and a high level of communication among staff. Requirements Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within casual fine dining establishments. Excellent kitchen management skills with the ability to supervise, mentor and motivate staff effectively. Creative flair with the ability to develop innovative dishes that appeal to diverse palates. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings. Strong knowledge of food safety and best practices in food handling. Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred but not mandatory.
