Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled, organized, and dependable Chef to lead daily kitchen operations at a fraternity/sorority house serving live-in student residents. This full-time role involves preparing meals, managing inventory and budgets, ordering supplies, supervising kitchen staff (where applicable), and maintaining consistent communication with house management and student leadership. This is a unique opportunity to manage a self-directed kitchen operation in a collegiate, community-oriented environment.•

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve high-quality meals for fraternity members and guests Plan menus based on dietary needs, preferences, and budget guidelines Order food and kitchen supplies while managing costs and minimizing waste Supervise and coordinate with a small kitchen crew if applicable Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant commercial kitchen Be responsible for all aspects of food safety and sanitation Ensure proper food storage techniques, including labeling, rotation (FIFO), and temperature control Maintain accurate inventory and ordering records Foster strong relationships with student leaders and house management through ongoing, clear communication Support occasional special events or weekend meals as needed Lift and carry items up to 40 lbs•

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience Strong working knowledge of food safety practices and proper storage techniques Reliable transportation to and from work Working mobile phone capable of downloading and using required scheduling and communication apps Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently Comfortable working in a college environment and engaging with students •Must pass a background check•
