The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with a keen eye for detail and creativity in cake decorating. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. You will work in a commissary environment, collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient production. Responsibilities Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards. Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring visual appeal and adherence to customer specifications. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen, following all health regulations. Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items to enhance our offerings. Package baked goods for catering orders or retail display, ensuring freshness and quality. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure a safe cooking environment. Requirements Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to baking, food handling, and safety practices. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Creative skills in cake decorating and presentation are highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A passion for baking and an eagerness to learn new techniques within the culinary field. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
