JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Chef de Cuisine who is positive, self-motivated, and has a passion for quality food, beverage, and service. This candidate must be able to foster teamwork and the ability to skillfully navigate a variety of personalities. We are looking to hire someone who holds themselves to a high standard of excellence and finds fulfillment and motivation in people management and the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities Food Preparation and Production:

Creatively develop and curate menu, including seasonal specials
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high culinary standards
Oversee the catering and family meal business

Staff Management:

Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff
Schedule shifts and manage staff duties to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback

Inventory and Ordering:

Manage inventory levels of all kitchen supplies, food products, and equipment
Place orders with suppliers and negotiate pricing and delivery schedules
Perform regular inventory audits to minimize waste and optimize product usage

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas
Conduct regular safety training for kitchen staff

Budget and Cost Control:

Assist in the preparation and management of the kitchen budget
Monitor food costs and labor costs, implementing strategies for cost reduction
Analyze sales data to drive menu pricing and profitability

Customer Experience:

Collaborate with service staff to ensure exceptional food presentation and delivery
Address customer feedback and complaints related to food quality or service

Special Projects:

Participate in events, catering, and community activities to promote Good Graces
Stay updated on culinary trends and suggest innovative ideas to enhance the menu.

Qualifications:

Menu development experience
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
Outstanding management, mentorship, and training abilities
Able to project manage and problem solve with attention to timeliness and meeting deadlines
Ability to work well under pressure and be a calm problem-solver in a fast-paced environment
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Must be able to work nights and weekends
Must have food safety certification

COMPENSATION

this position is: salaried, $50,000 – $75,000
