This role requires expertise in knife skills and food handling, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities Prepare and present sushi dishes according to restaurant standards, ensuring quality and consistency. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety regulations. Handle food items with care, ensuring proper food handling techniques are followed at all times. Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new ideas into menu offerings. Skills Proficient in meal preparation with a focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. Strong knife skills essential for precise cutting and presentation of sushi ingredients. Experience working in a restaurant or culinary setting, preferably within a dietary department or food service environment. Knowledge of food handling regulations and best practices for maintaining kitchen safety. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely preparation of dishes during peak hours. Creativity in menu planning, with an eye for detail in presentation.
