Chef The Hive Bar & Bistro 142 Outwater Lane, Garfield, NJ 07026 Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, showcasing expertise in food preparation, production, and safety. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional dining experiences while managing kitchen operations efficiently. Duties Brunch chef, that can create his own menu, prep ingredients, and cook the food on Weekends. Oversee kitchen operations and ensure high-quality food production. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Implement and uphold food safety standards to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and effective team management. Conduct regular training sessions for team members on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Monitor food presentation and portion control to maintain consistency and quality. Assist in menu planning and development based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Experience Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry. Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and food safety regulations. Demonstrated ability to manage shifts effectively while leading a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent culinary skills with an emphasis on food production and preparation techniques. Ability to work collaboratively with others while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
