Pastry Cook Red Horse by David Burke in Bernardsville 27 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07924 A Pastry Cook provides both skill and creativity in the kitchen. We are looking for a person with a passion for the position. Pastry chef needs both technical skills as well as managerial skills. Pastry Assistant needs the skill to represent the company as lead by the Pastry Chef and Chef David Burke. They need to be able to execute various levels of baking skills and have the ability to introduce new techniques for baking and decoration. Most often, a desirable pastry chef will be a very creative individual with a keen attention to detail. Pastry chefs are often relied upon to create and execute their own new recipes as well as longstanding favorites of a certain restaurant or bakery. Effective communication is also an important trait. Pastry chefs need to communicate complicated recipes and techniques to their staff.

Responsibilities:

Purchasing and stocking all baking materials for the kitchen Prepare a variety of dessert, cakes and bread-based items Planning menus and training staff of bakers on all recipes Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen space Monitoring and maintaining all pastry department equipment
