Required Years of Experience 2 years Job Details Edith’s is looking for sous chef who thrives in a fast paced environment and who can elevate our patrons’ culinary experience without losing the integrity of the product. Edith’s is a quickly growing Jewish Deli in Brooklyn and serves gourmet bagels, sandwiches, and baked goods. Our ideal candidate is able to handle a busy breakfast rush while being flexible and reliable. Our team members are trustworthy, professional, punctual, attentive, energetic, cheerful and courteous. We have an awesome team and look for excellent people to join us. there is a lot of opportunity for growth. This job requires someone who thrives under pressure in a fast-paced fun environment.

WEEKENDS REQUIRED & MORNINGS
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Cooks food items by grilling, eggs etc, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Prior Egg cookery and knowledge
  • Ability to execute at high volume and works efficiently
  • Is professional and punctual
  • Has attention to detail
  • Is a team player and communicates well with both BOH and FOH
  • Is a self-starter who can work without constant directives
  • Is able to work a dining room with a small team
  • Experience in a leadership role is a plus but not required Responsibilities
  • Packing deliveries/takeouts and sending them out on time
  • Placing food orders
  • Receiving in orders, managing inventory and leading monthly physical inventory counts
  •  Running a smooth service and keeping the kitchen clean
  • Running DOH drills and maintaining our A grade. Inspection ready at any time
  • Working with our Culinary Director to run a kitchen that hits operational and financial goals
  • Ensures all the food going out the door is to the Edith’s standard
  • Be flexible and always up for innovation: running specials and leaning into what works
  •  Accountability for the team and end results. You are in charge of daily kitchen operations for both our line and commissary production
  • Collaborate with management on service and process
  • Create and maintain systems that streamline process
  • Jump in to assist other team members as necessary
