Job Description

Key Responsibilities of an

Assistant Chef:
Kitchen Operations:

Maintaining cleanliness, organizing the kitchen, and ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene procedures.

Supervision:

Depending on the role, supervising other kitchen staff and delegating tasks.

Communication:

Communicating with waitstaff about daily specials and changes to the menu.

Food Preparation:

Chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, meats, and other ingredients according to recipes and guidelines.

Cooking:

Assisting with cooking, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.

Inventory Management:

Helping with stocking, receiving deliveries, and rotating inventory to maintain freshness. Additional Responsibilities that may be included:

Menu Planning:

Helping to plan and prepare daily menus.

Training:

Training new kitchen staff.

Equipment Maintenance:

Reporting any issues with kitchen equipment to the Head Chef.

Dietary Needs:

Being aware of and assisting with special dietary needs and allergies.
