As soon as possible A high-profile household located on Central Park South is seeking a skilled, presentable Private Chef to prepare high-quality dinners 2-3 evenings per week. This is a part-time role ideal for a chef who is passionate about Asian and Italian cuisine, highly independent, and able to maintain a refined and discreet presence in a formal home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and cook fresh dinners 2-3 evenings per week for a family of 4 (adult children visit occasionally). Specialize in Asian (Chinese, Korean, Japanese) and Italian cuisines.
Note:
American-Chinese food is not desired. Shop for groceries and maintain kitchen inventory (reimbursement provided). Perform regular kitchen upkeep and maintenance; housekeepers assist with cleaning. Communicate directly with the principal regarding menus and schedules. Ensure a polished, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a private chef or in high-end culinary settings. Deep knowledge of Asian and Italian cuisines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Presentable and respectful within a formal household. No travel required. Flexible afternoon start times; meals typically needed in the evening. Comfortable working in a home with existing staff and occasional guests.
Compensation:
Approx. $500/day, based on experience and fit. No insurance or additional benefits included.
Additional Notes:
Groceries will be reimbursed (no company card provided). Communication will primarily be through the principal, with occasional coordination via her team leader. Interested candidates should be prepared to submit a resume, sample menus, and references. The family is currently reviewing candidates and would like to meet chefs before June 16th.
