Chef Edgewood 22 Edgewood Rd, Drums, PA 18222 Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, with the ability to handle both ala carte and wedding/special event menus. This position requires a commitment to food safety, quality, and excellence in kitchen operations. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in menu planning, food production, and managing and training staff. Duties Prepare and cook menu items across all aspects of business efficiently and to meet customer service standards. Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared safely and meets quality standards. Place weekly food orders to manage inventory and minimize waste. Create seasonal bar/restaurant menus, monthly dining specials, and assist wedding and event staff in creation of special event menus. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations. Train and mentor kitchen staff (line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers) on culinary techniques and food safety practices. Monitor food presentation. Handle any special dietary requests or modifications as needed by guests. Requirements Proven experience in a Chef role or similar position within the food service industry. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen operations. Serv Safe certification a plus. Experience with menu planning and food production processes. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new recipes is highly desirable.
