Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community is excited to announce Seafields by Bishop Gadsden, located at the intersection of Seabrook and Kiawah Islands. This community will feature 88 independent and 16 assisted living residences. With outstanding amenities, world-class health care with MUSC Health Kiawah Partners Pavilion and Bishop Gadsden’s Gadsden Glen Center for Health and Rehab, all within walking distance to Freshfields Village, it is going to be a community like no other! The Director of Culinary Services is tasked to provide quality culinary operations and services to residents, guests, and team members which meet and exceed the expectation of the community through the organization and management of all aspects of the Culinary Services department.
A Typical Day:
Plan, develop, and implement long-range and short-range goals and objectives for the department.
Plan, develop, and implement departmental policies and procedures to attain the stated goals and objectives.
Prepare and manage the department budget. Diligently appraise the quality and cost of food service in accordance with budget constraints and quality requirements. Control department resources through appropriate planning, utilization, evaluation and data analysis.
Initiate and manage vendors to supply quality food at best available pricing.
Develop quality standards for nutritional care, food and service, catering, and evaluates systems to determine department effectiveness. Coordinate clinical and administrative functions to ensure high-quality nutritional care.
Hire and train team members within the facility guidelines and culture
Requirements
What We Need In A Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in business or hospitality management or equivalent education and experience to successfully meet job function requirements. Prefer a minimum of 10 years of restaurant, hospitality or senior living experience.
Supervisory ability and experience with staffing and scheduling.
Proven skills in verbal and written communication.
Must consistently demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and professionalism.
Ability to stand, stoop, bend reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift (up to 50 pounds +/-).
