Position Summary :

The Concierge is a customer-service-focused cleaning professional responsible for maintaining a strong, visible presence throughout the day at Samford University. As part of the daytime support team, concierges play a vital role in upholding campus cleanliness, quickly responding to immediate needs, and ensuring a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role bridges the gap between the overnight cleaning crew and daytime campus activity, delivering excellence in both appearance and service.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness of common areas, elevators, and staircases throughout the day. Restock supplies and refresh restrooms to ensure consistent hygiene and presentation. Dust and tidy lobbies, waiting areas, and classrooms between classes or events. Provide on-call support for special events at the request of Samford building coordinators. Monitor, close, and document daily work orders, ensuring prompt task completion. Offer a friendly, approachable presence and assist campus staff, faculty, and students as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to communicate respectfully and professionally. Ability to work independently and follow direction with minimal supervision. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties consistent with janitorial and facility support work. Prior custodial or facilities maintenance experience preferred, but not required. Willingness to work occasional weekend shifts for event support as scheduled.
