FLORIDA We are recruiting to replace two of our hospice physicians who arenearing retirement. Our Hospice which is located on the East coast in South CentralFlorida was established in 1977 and is our counties longest servingand only independent not for profit hospice. Our 15,000 sq. / ft.
Care Center is a 12-suite(with private patios) full servicehospice care facility, that provides short-term acute symptommanagement for hospice patients – 24 /7.Currently we have over 300patients and this number is growing The Hospice Physician, as a member of the interdisciplinary careteam (IDT), that consists of physician, mid levels, Rn’s,volunteers, and a Chaplin, is responsible for the direction andquality of the medical component of the care rendered to thepatient/family by the interdisciplinary team. We prefer certification as a hospice/palliative care physician orInternal medicine/Family medicine physician with experience orinterest in hospice/palliative care medicine. Knowledgeable about the psychosocial and medical aspects of hospiceand palliative care and the ability to manage the emotional stressof working with and caring for terminally ill patients and theirfamilies is a plus.
