The Concierge/Lifestyle Director also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Marquis Association. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Marquis Association Service as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with our external customer. Duties include but are not limited to: Work with the Social Committee chairperson and Board liaison to plan and execute social events Plan, coordinate, and implement all Association-funded events and/or shows; including but not limited to, budgeting for the activity, ticket sales, scheduling room use, facilitating preparations (Set-up, execution, and breakdown), and procurement of all supplies needed for the activities Attend all events and shows that are funded and supported by the Association Attend other shows and events as needed, to be coordinated with the Social Committee Meet and work with talent and travel agents and attend local showcases to preview events for possible presentation to the community Meet all new residents and conduct orientation about the association and the amenities – must reach out within 72 hours of notification of new residents. Select events and classes for the year with weekly, monthly and annual classes/events. Must be comfortable speaking in front of a crowd – giving reports on the community social events at the board of directors’ meetings and also introducing events Publish social calendar for distribution electronically Negotiates necessary contracts relating to the presentation of shows, workshops, classes, and other forms of entertainment Create printed information for distribution, including performer bios, show synopses or itineraries for events, and posters and flyers advertising events and classes Maintain complete and current files for all events, including copies of all event-related items; Maintain accurate financial (Credit Card) records relating to all events, requests for event expenditures, balancing checks with ticket sales, completing deposit slips and making deposits, tallying total costs and sales for submitting sales and usage taxes Edit and produce Community Association Newsletter and solicit advertising for the newsletter Prepare a report to be included in the various management reports Prepare articles for various associations’ publications, including Constant Contact Serve as a management representative to the Social Committee, ART Committee, and Board of Directors. Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing duties May require outdoor site visits on an occasional basis This position is a salary position and requires being available 24/7, as needed. Experience/Knowledge/Abilities:
Minimum of 3+ years or related work experience as an Activities or Social Director required. Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies Must have strong entertainment planning background. Minimal graphic design skills. Solid computer skills, and mobile apps Able to work with vendors and crews on organizing events in a timely manner. Strong administrative background. Excellent working knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Outstanding interpersonal, office management, and communication skills, as well as a self-starter and multi-tasker. Critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgment, and decision making. Exercise all duties and tasks in a cheerful and friendly manner as well as be a team player, together with office staff and residents to achieve all events successfully. Social Director/Events Coordinator experience required. Proven experience as a hospitality concierge with references Strong verbal and written communication in English Excels at communication, both verbal and written. Hands-on experience with cashier functions and monetary transactions High School diploma or higher educational level Passionate about resident service and a minimum of 2 years of similar work experience. A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus. Advanced knowledge of concierge operations, a strong leader, and a proven track record in resident and team member engagement and financial performance. Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation
