Shelter Advocate Tranquility House Domestic Violence Center Cartersville, GA 30120 , Job Summary The Night Advocate at Tranquility House Domestic Violence Center serves as shelter coverage and service provider for shelter guests during the evening and overnight hours. Essential Job Functions as
Night Advocate:
Maintains the safety and security of our non-disclosed location, to protect the health and safety of all guests( clients) women and their children, staff, and vendors. Answer’s crisis calls during shift Provides crisis intervention and referrals for guests if needed. Ensures household contributions ( chores) are completed by guests nightly Have the ability to clean, sanitize, and organize the facility during your shift Completes intake of incoming guests and children during shift Completes all paperwork and documents daily Maintains regular communication with the Assistant Director advising of any major problems or high-risk situations by phone and shelter log on a daily basis Participates in monthly staff meetings
Requirements of Position Applicants:
Possess a background in victim advocacy Possess an understanding of domestic violence dynamics Able to work independently Able to utilize the resources available both in the community and in-house Obtain CPR/ First Aid Training Pass criminal background check Willing to submit to random drug screenings Willing to adhere to all shelter policies and procedures Must be able to carry or move items( up to 50lbs) up and down stairs
