The ideal candidate will play a vital role in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for cooking. This position requires a keen understanding of food safety practices, excellent knife skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all meals are prepared in a safe and sanitary manner. Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Collaborate with chefs to execute meal preparation efficiently during service hours. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all safety protocols. Support the culinary team with various tasks as needed, including inventory management. Experience Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food safety standards. Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking methods. Experience working in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is a plus. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills in the kitchen.
