Job Description
Cook (Full Time) – Assisted Living & Memory Care Facility Homestead Village 7830 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola, FL 32526 We are currently looking for a full-time Cook to join our team at Homestead Village. Must be dependable, on-time, and maintain an excellent attendance record. Reliable transportation is required. Must be available to work weekdays and weekends as needed. A strong work ethic is mandatory. This is a senior living community with independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Experience preferred but we will consider applicants with general cooking skills. Must be able to pass a level two background screening.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of meals for residents according to assisted living regulations Assist in serving meals according to portion control Maintain assigned areas in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner, as well as clean-as-you-go principle Keep dry storage and all refrigerators/freezers in clean and organized manner Assist in checking in and storing incoming food and supplies Check special diet trays and ensure they are accurate Report equipment needs and supplies to Supervisor Assist with the preparation of special meals, parties, and banquets Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and to exert 20 pounds of force frequently. Must be able to handle physical activity, to include sitting, walking, standing, carrying, bending, lifting, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Clinical/Technical Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow established policies and procedures for dietary department Assist in maintaining safe and sanitary dietary department
Resident Service and Satisfaction:
Fully understand all aspects of residents’ rights; maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact in a manner that promotes the emotional well-being of the residents. Respond to residents’ and family members’ concerns with empathy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner. Report residents’ and family members’ concerns or complaints to supervisor in a timely manner Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance in conformity with dress code standards
