Prep Cook and Line Cook Chop Chop Shop 4603 North Florida Avenue, Tampa, FL 33603 Overview Chanko is hiring dedicated, ambitious Line/Prep Chefs. We’re a scratch-cooking, fast casual, okonomiyaki and Japanese comfort food joint looking for cooks to join our fast paced, high energy kitchen. We offer 4-day workweeks, PTO after one year of employment, and paid holidays after 6 months. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and proteins as per recipe specifications. Assist in the cooking process by preparing sauces, stocks, and other bases under the direction of the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and stored properly. Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals. Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and reporting shortages as needed. Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Experience Previous experience in a culinary or food service environment is preferred but not required; we are willing to train motivated individuals. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential. Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities within a dietary department is a plus. Proficiency in using kitchen tools such as knives and other food preparation equipment is highly valued. A passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
