Job Description

Line Cook Little Greek – Tarpon Springs 40908 Us Highway 19 North, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 General Purpose Accurately and efficiently cook food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation. Experience/Qualifications Needed 1. Experience in commercial kitchen preparation and cooking procedures 2. Minimum of 6 months experience in similar capacity in high volume, quick service or fast casual restaurant 3. ServSafe certified (or any other required state certification) 4. Capable of using all kitchen equipment 5. Ability to work 50 to 60 hour work weeks 6. Capable of reaching, bending and stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds 7. Able to work in standing position for extended period of time (up to 7 hours) Duties and Responsibilities 1. Prepares a variety of food items utilizing flat top grills, charbroilers, vertical broilers, cook tops, commercial oven, and fryers. 2. Assumes responsibility for quality of products prepared and served. 3. Knows and complies consistently with our recipes, standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies and procedures. 4. Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period. 5. Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including all cooking equipment and refrigeration equipment. 6. Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. 7. Handles, stores and rotates all products properly. 8. Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed. 9. Opens and Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen. 10. Assists in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance. 11. Properly maintains and uses all equipment per manufacturer’s and company specifications. 12. Maintains a high level of sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen 13. Maintains a positive, supportive work environment via effective, professional communication with co-workers. 14. Supports and follows all company policies, procedures and programs. 15. Promotes good business principles by never discussing company business in public areas or with customers. 16. Exhibits proper hygiene and sanitary habits. 17. Maintains a friendly, courteous and cheerful demeanor at all times. 18. Provides assistance to other employees to contribute to the best overall operation of the restaurant. 19. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Job Types:

$13.00 – $17.00 per hour
