Food Prep Cook/ Caterer Riverside Catering & Market New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Preparation person to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the meal preparation process, ensuring that all ingredients are prepared and ready for offsite catering. This position is essential in maintaining the efficiency of our kitchen operations and upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients according to recipes and specifications. Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients. Support the dietary department in preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service. Participate in catering events as needed, contributing to menu planning and execution. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to management. Follow all health and safety guidelines while working in the kitchen. Food safety handling certification will be required. Qualifications Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety standards is essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques and recipes. Experience as a dietary aide or in catering roles is a huge plus but not necessarily mandatory. Must be able to follow directions accurately and maintain high-quality standards in meal preparation.
