Great Southern Café LLC, 83 Central Square, Santa Rosa Beach FL 32459, seeks 8 full-time, temporary, Line Cooks from 04/01/2025•12/18/2025. Each cook will prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinnertime meals as instructed by shift’s lead chef. Rotate daily (and during scheduled shifts) from various stations to perform different tasks, such as entrée, side dish, dessert and appetizer prep, plate garnishing, and food portioning. Work in conjunction with other line cooks and kitchen staff to ensure food is rotated on schedule from freezers and walk-ins to prep areas, and then on to the line for cooking. Assist with shift changeover to ensure that customer’s orders are filled before leaving. Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment by observing kitchen rules and our chef’s personal requirements. Ensure all cooking, prep and food handling areas and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at the end of every workday.
Use the following cooking methods:
grilling, broiling, baking, roasting, sauteing, searing, poaching, simmering, boiling, braising, stewing, steaming and frying; and the following traditional kitchen tools: ovens, fryers, grills, flat tops, zester and graters, timers, silicone products, chef knives, meat grinders, pounders and marinade equipment, and bamboo tools to prepare American Southern and American style foods. Attend required training classes to augment cooking skills as required by our team of chefs. Be familiar with proper food handling regulations as well as contamination controls. Must have a current food handlers permit. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. as well as standing on feet for up to 8 hours. Scheduled for one 8-hour shift per day, Monday•Sunday, 7am-3pm or 2pm-10pm, with 2 days off per week. $18.00/hour. Overtime as required at $27.00/hour. Background check post-hire, pre-employment. Free meals during shift. Discounted rates at restaurant. Employee housing provided for by employer at $300 per month with a shared room in a 5-bedroom house. Employer-provided housing is optional. A single workweek will be used to compute wages. Employees are paid every two weeks. Employer will reimburse H-2B workers in first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (excluding passport expenses and other charges that primarily benefit the worker). Transportation (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or it’s cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half of the employment period. Daily subsistence will be at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. The reimbursement will be provided by separate check. Employer will provide return transportation if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early. Employer will provide at no charge, all tools, equipment and supplies necessary to perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workday in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Employer will make all the deductions from paychecks that are required by law. Advances from payments and/or loans made to workers, if any, may be repaid by authorized payroll deductions. All deductions from workers’ pay will be FLSA-compliant.
