The cook is responsible for estimating food consumption and for purchasing foodstuffs; the cook will receive and examine supplies to ensure quality and quantity meets established standards and specifications. The cook is responsible for the selection and development of recipes, as well as cooking or otherwise preparing food, such as carving meats or trimming and cutting. The cook will work with other personnel to prepare meals and will give instructions to workers as to size portions and methods of garnishing.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training Equivalent combination of education and experience Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license
Work Hours:
The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
