Line Cook Position Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating menu items in accordance with the restaurant’s recipes and standards. Working on a specific station, the Line Cook ensures timely and quality food service in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies. Prepare ingredients and cook menu items as directed by the Head or Sous Chef. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area throughout the shift. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed. Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld. Communicate effectively with team members and support other stations as required.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen preferred. Basic understanding of professional cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and sanitation. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Culinary training or education is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
