About our
Chef:
Chef Christian has spent the last 27 years in the kitchen of some of the most recognizable restaurants in the Greater Portland area. Chef Bassett has experience in several acclaimed establishments in Maine including the legendary Back Bay Grill, and relevant especially to the hotel and tourism hospitality role that UNION and The Press Hotel serve, Chef Bassett has been the Executive Chef at The Noble Kitchen & Bar and Hilton properties in Portland. A steadfast presence in the Portland restaurant community for over two decades, Chef Bassett prides himself on the intimate knowledge of the seasonal harvest rhythms and the best of Maine’s land and sea purveyors to ensure his menus sing with a sense of place. He mentors and teaches the culinary craft to those who are passionate for making truly tasteful art. We are currently seeking full-time year-round Line Cooks to join our team! !! Some responsibilities:
Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner Create incredible dishes with consistency Have thorough knowledge of menus, standard recipes, and preparation methods Practice sanitation and safety daily to ensure the total customer satisfaction In the absence of upper kitchen management, may be asked to supervise Steward, Food preparations and cooking functions Adhere to all applicable Property Standard Operating Procedures Work with Front of house and Back of house staff to ensure a great experience for guests EEO Drug•
