    Position Overview
    The cook is responsible for preparing meals for patients, customers, and employees, adhering to strict sanitation guidelines as mandated by local, state, and federal authorities.

Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $16.00 /hour.

Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience

00 /hour or more (depending on education & experience). Benefits begin on the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position.

Position Requirements

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

Institutional cooking experience is required, with a minimum of one year in a related field.

Required Registration/License/Certification:

None.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public, patients, families, and staff.
Ability to work independently under pressure and use time efficiently.
Exceptional customer service skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members.
Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and nutritional analysis.
Physical Demands
Lifts, positions, pushes, pulls, and/or transfers up to and greater than 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity and mobility.
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable sitting, standing, and walking.
Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
Near acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
Working Conditions
Frequently exposed to hazards from electrical, mechanical, or power equipment, odorous chemicals, and unpleasant elements (accident, injury, slippery surfaces, uneven terrain).
Subject to irregular hours and on-call shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Continuous standing and walking for periods greater than 8 hours per shift.
Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls over 50 pounds per shift.
Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching multiple times per hour.
Frequent hand, finger, and wrist repetition with moderate dexterity.
