Line Cook/Prep Cook Bush Farmhouse Black Mountain, NC 28711 We are looking for cooks who have a passion for the kitchen. We are a small kitchen with a very unique menu, everything all paying tribute to South African cuisine.
We do very heavy volume during the summer so we are really looking for some heavy hitters who wanna challenge themselves. We are in full swing with summer here, averaging almost 900 covers a weekend which is very impressive for the size of our spot. Bush Farmhouse also hosts events like wedding rehearsal dinners and wine pairings, we also do caterings. Some things we are looking for in new hires would include: Knife skills Ability to read and execute recipes Ticket Management Food Safety Knowledge Composure in chaotic situations (the weeds) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional dining experiences by ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. You will work closely with the kitchen staff to create delicious meals in a fast-paced environment, contributing to our commitment to fine dining and outstanding food service. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of ingredients for menu items, ensuring freshness and quality. Execute food preparation tasks according to established recipes and presentation standards. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to plan menus and ensure timely meal service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with inventory management. Support the team during peak hours by efficiently preparing dishes and assisting with cooking as needed. Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning, sanitizing, and equipment maintenance. Experience Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a culinary environment is preferred. Familiarity with menu planning and fine dining standards is a plus. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques is essential. A passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the food industry.
