Job Summary:

Claywood is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Garde Manger Line Cook to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for preparing and plating cold dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen and takes pride in seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare all cold station items including composed salads, cold appetizers, charcuterie boards, dressings, and vinaigrettes Plate and present items with consistency and a high level of attention to detail Maintain a clean, organized station throughout service Support mise en place and prep duties for both service and events Properly label, date, and store ingredients to maintain food safety and reduce waste Assist with butchery, terrines, pâtés, and cured items as directed Communicate effectively with other stations to ensure smooth service flow Uphold all sanitation, food handling, and safety protocols

Qualifications:

1-2 years of kitchen experience, preferably in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant Familiarity with cold food prep techniques and basic knife skills Strong understanding of culinary fundamentals and kitchen etiquette Passion for locally sourced, seasonal ingredients Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and work cleanly and efficiently Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment

Schedule:

Part-time availability Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required

Compensation:
Hourly Rate:

Typically ranges from $16-$20/hour depending on experience, market, and scope of responsibility. (Hendersonville, NC region range is typically $16-$18/hour, with higher pay for advanced experience or added responsibilities such as charcuterie and butchery.)
