Summary:

Appalachian Mountain Brewery is seeking experienced full-time cooks to join our team at our taproom in Mills River. Benefits starting day one!!!Cooks will work under the supervision of the head chef and kitchen management to prepare food items for customers, maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, and ensure that all food items are prepared to the highest quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare food items according to recipes and portion sizes Ensure that all food items are properly cooked and presented in a timely manner Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards Assist in monitoring food inventory and replacing supplies as needed Assist in preparation and execution of food for special events or private parties Maintain a positive and professional environment at all times Assist in other kitchen duties as needed, including but not limited to dishwashing, food prep, and cleaning

Qualifications:

Passion for culinary arts Passion for the beer and beverage industry Experience as a cook in a high-volume restaurant or brewpub Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays Education and/or

Experience:

2+ years’ experience cooking in a restaurant or brewpub (required) ServSafe (preferred)

Work Environment:

Kitchen environment, including hot areas, hot equipment, coolers, freezers, sharp knives Fast-paced, high-volume

Physical Demands:

While performing job duties the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, lift, talk, and hear The employee is required to be on foot for a large portion of the shift The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch Must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overheard
