Job Summary:
This position exists to prep and cook cannabis infused edible products within the kitchen in the production department.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the kitchen.
- Prepare all edibles in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Preform or oversee all the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP and Q/A processes in facility.
- Strictly follow department SOP’s, Batch Records, Log’s, and associated Forms/Documents.
- Assist in the implementation of Edible Kitchen systems and SOPs.
- Maintain relevant training as new products are introduced.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily production schedules to meet company targets.
- Coordinate labor and assign tasks to ensure optimal workflow and efficiency.
- Monitor food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with company policies and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
- Complete maintain accurate batch records and other production documentation.
- Support and enforce quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) protocols.
- Train and mentor production staff, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot production issues and escalate when necessary.
- Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain inventory counts and manage ordering of ingredients.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. 3+ years of experience in medium to large-scale food manufacturing environments. 2. Strong understanding of FDA regulations and FSMA compliance. 3. Prior experience with QA/QC procedures and batch documentation. 4. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. 5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic production setting. 6. HACCP and/or SQF certification is a plus. 7. Experience with cannabis infused edibles preferred, not required. Additional Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check. Minimum Education and Experience
- High School Education or GED graduate; culinary school or equivalent preferred.
- One to two years’ experience processing cannabis in a regulated facility preferred.
- Previous experience in licensed cannabis production facility preferred. Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, carrying, sitting, and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 40 pounds, manage stairs, and perform typical cleaning of facilities and equipment.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) to Five (5) years in a production facility, does not have to be food related but any experience with food will be helpful; experience in baked goods, Bakery, restaurant, hotel or cottage industry Three (3) to Five (5) years in confectionary production facility, experience cooking with creating candies, taffy, etc. Three (3) to Five (5) years in chocolate creations, the ability to hand temper chocolate, pour chocolate with consistency, enrobing, truffles, etc. Experience with cannabis infused edibles preferred, but not required. Ability to work with a team and have a sense of urgency. Ability to stand on feet for long hours. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to accurately follow recipes and measurements. Ability to be trained on various activities, machines, and systems. Ability to do monotonous activities without making errors. Detail-oriented mind set with a focus on efficiency, quality and sanitation Use of Microsoft Word, Excel and other important processing programs.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Driver’s License or ability to obtain one. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater) and adhere to GMP standards. Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
WORK SCHEDULE
40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
