Job Summary:

The Pizza Maker is responsible for preparing a variety of traditional and specialty pizzas, maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene, and ensuring timely service. This role requires efficiency, creativity, and a solid understanding of Italian cooking methods, especially in dough preparation, sauce crafting, and wood-fired or stone oven baking.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a wide range of pizzas following traditional Italian recipes and restaurant standards Hand-stretch dough, apply sauces, and add toppings in precise proportions Operate and maintain pizza ovens Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and well-stocked throughout shifts Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with food safety regulations Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service during peak hours Follow portion control guidelines to minimize food waste Contribute to menu development by suggesting new pizza recipes or seasonal specials

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a pizza maker or cook in a restaurant setting (Italian cuisine preferred) Knowledge of traditional Italian pizza-making techniques, including dough fermentation and oven operation Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Food Handler’s Certificate or equivalent (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Comfortable working near hot ovens and in a kitchen environment
