  • Saturday June 14th. I need a cook that specializes in frying chicken wings in a fryer and cooking other soul foods like candied yams, baked mac & cheese, and honey butter cornbread, etc. The catering event is being administered by my catering company, Kiki’zGem, a business geared towards cultivating queer unity through Caribbean soul-food and drag performance. • 14th, we will be preparing and catering for a primer boarding school in Lakeville, CT.

I need cooks that are server certified for food, able to cook for large volumes of people, coachable, communicative, lgbtq+ friendly, and professional. For this event, you may need to travel, so I’m needing cooks that are preferably from NYC, CT, or close to those areas. Round trip traveling will be offered via the MTA amtrack. I’m also offering to drive workers from NYC to the location and back to the train at the conclusion of the event on Saturday. I’ll also offer a stipend for gas if you are driving, but those are the only modes of transportation that will be covered. In addition, this event is an overnight gig, and housing accommodations and food will also be covered. You will sleep in a single dorm room where there’s wifi, communal showers, a bed, bedding, alongside other amenities. Please bring your own bedding and toiletries just in case as this is my first time catering for this space. The campus also has a pool, gym, and amazing areas to tour and view. However, this is a working gig and work shall be the priority. . . For this event, we will be catering for 250 people from 11:30

  • 2 pm on Saturday.

We will start prepping for this event the day before on Friday at 12 pm until we finish. I anticipate that we’ll finish in 3/4 pm. Prepping will entail, cleaning meats, chopping yams, plantains, and cheese, and seasoning and storing means, in addition to other foods. Following this, we will make a final clean of the space to prepare for the event on Saturday. During the event on Saturday, we will cook the food, serve during the event, and that will include replacing finished foods until the conclusion of the event, and then making one final big clean of space and cooking items that was used for the event. Following this, I’ll give you time to pack before driving you back to the train to go home. For this event, I will be paying you a time payment of $300. You will be paid at the end of the event on Saturday. This gig has the potential to lead to consistent work! . . . .
