Days & Evenings SUMMARY:

As a Cook, your ability to maintain a sanitary environment while preparing meals allows for quality and nutritious meal delivery throughout the hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Maintains work areas in a safe, sanitary and orderly manner, demonstrating proper equipment use and sanitation techniques.+ Produces all food products as identified on food production sheets or menu, using standard recipes and proper food handling practices for meals, as assigned in a timely, organized manner.+ Responsible for carrying out plans to improve quality and efficiency of food production through monitoring taste, temperature, appearance, and portion control of items prepared.+ Responsible for safe operation of food service equipment and utilizing personal protective equipment according to MSDS sheets.+ Demonstrate proper food handling techniques, including adherence to Health Department regulations.+ Prepare foods as needed for service.+ Clean respective areas and equipment.+ Work to attain harmonous environment with co-workers.+

PRLC Only:

Consult work schedule to determine work hours. Work in a steady and timely manner to insure work list is completed.+

Food and Nutrition Only:

Assists in inventory control by maintaining organization of coolers, freezers, and dry storage, and identifying shortages+

Food and Nutrition Only:

Assists in meal service as required while maintaining good customer relations. ?

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ High school graduate or equivalent preferred.+

Food and Nutrition Only:

1-year minimum previous food production experience preferred.+ Knowledge of food safety and sanitation required

REQUIREMENTS

M – Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. $17.25 – $19.40
