Kitchen Cook/Prep Sushi Lab New York, NY 10036 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that all dishes meet our standards for taste and presentation. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu plans. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Participate in training new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices. Experience Previous experience in a Japanese restaurant is a plus! Knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and dietary guidelines is essential. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, as well as food safety standards. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers.
