Job Details Who You Are:
We are seeking culinary professionals looking to cook excellent food with classic technique in a fine dining setting who are excited to be a part of opening a new and exciting French restaurant. We believe it is equally as important to be looking to learn and grow, as it is to teach and mentor. This a great opportunity for highly motivated individuals who are growing in their careers and want to help create a professional work environment that prides itself on excellence, consistency, and phenomenal guest experiences. We are looking for cooks with Michelin experience, who would like to move from working in a tasting menu format to a la carte. Our current team consists of chefs with experience at: Per Se, Blue Hill, Naro, Aquavit, the Alta Marea Restaurant group, and the Jose Andres restaurant group. This will be a brigade-style kitchen with a clearly outlined hierarchy and honest communication. Members of the opening team will have the opportunity to help define the language, systems and culture of a new restaurant. As this is a restaurant opening, flexibility in schedule will be required with strong growth and financial opportunities being offered to candidates who are pivotal to our success. The job will be full-time, Wednesday to Sunday, working nights with an average of 40-45 hours per week. We are looking for an immediate hire.
Job Requirements:
At least 2 year of line position in a fine dining establishment
Knife skills, plating techniques, sense of urgency and attention to detail
Set of personal tools including but not limited to: chef knives, petty knife, slicer, chefs tools, etc. Ability to learn and follow recipes to execute dishes and prep
Ability to work in a team environment and take feedback well
Maintain safe, sanitary and organized work stations as outlined by your supervisor and the Department of Health
Lift and carry 30+ pounds
Ability to work long hours standing, shifts will last up to 10 hours
