Bistro Prep Cook/Line Cook Red Newt Cellars, Winery & Bistro 3675 Tichenor Road, Hector, NY 14841 Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook/Line Cook to be part of our team. Red Newt Cellars has been a leading player in the Finger Lakes wine and culinary scene for over 25 years. In 2025 we are rebooting the Bistro after a post-covid hiatus and re-embracing the excitement of Finger Lakes regional wine and food. As Prep Cook/Line Cook, you will play an essential role in delivering food that is delicious, inspired and satisfying to our guests. In addition to our regular menu, you will be involved in imagining menus for wine and food pairing dinners along with the chef, winemaker and Red Newt team.

Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients for use in recipes and dishes Assist with preparation and work independently to prepare mise en place for daily menu Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment Monitor inventory levels of ingredients Ensure that all ingredients and preparations are handled and stored appropriately Execute daily lunch service and occasional evening dinner service for special events

Skills:

Proficient in food preparation and professional kitchen operations Good knife skills and proper use of kitchen equipment Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices Ability to follow recipes, scale recipes and produce accurate portion sizes Strong attention to detail Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and organization Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player This is a full time seasonal position with weekends required.
