Line Cook/Prep Cook Mary Lou’s Montauk 474 West Lake Drive, Montauk, NY 11954 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in fine dining. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes while adhering to food safety standards and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in menu planning, including the selection of ingredients and portion sizes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment. Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest quality of food handling. Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation tasks. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Help manage inventory by tracking supplies and assisting with ordering as needed. Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs when necessary. Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant or fine dining environment is preferred. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
