Line Cook/Prep Cook The Fifth Season Restaurant 34 East Broadway, Port Jefferson, NY 11777 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of meal preparation techniques. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality dishes to our guests. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as needed. Cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Participate in menu planning and suggest new dishes based on seasonal ingredients. Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs when necessary. Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Experience Previous experience in the culinary field or food service industry is preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and cooking methods. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
