Prep Cook/Line Cook @ Bickering Twins Restaurant 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 114 North Cayuga Street, Ithaca, NY 14850 Bickering Twins is a Latin American restaurant in downtown Ithaca. Our menu is focused primarily around Mexican cuisine with other Latin American influences as well. We are happy to have candidates with no or little experience. We love to teach the right candidates how to do things our specific way. We are looking for a line cook to work evening shifts, whom we can cross train on the cold line (where you will prepare salads and appetizers) AND hot line where you will primarily cook taco fillings and entrees. The candidate will work 3-4 shifts per week. The shifts will start around 4:00 PM and will end somewhere around 10:30/11PM depending on the day and time of the year. We are looking for cooks who:
- Are willing to do whatever tasks are necessary to run a successful service: ex: Wash dishes, extra cleaning tasks etc.
- Takes instruction and constructive criticism well
- Good work ethic and works well with a team We are offering a pay range of $18.00

Position :
Prepare, cook, and plate great tasting food quickly and safely. Work cohesively with your teammates to get the day’s work done, including but not limited to, prepping food, setting up and closing down stations, washing dishes, and cooking food on the line.
Responsibilities:
- Set up your station and make sure all proper “mise en place” are ready for service.
- Cook and present the restaurant’s dishes as specified o Taste all food to make sure it meets restaurant’s standards
- Pay attention to ticket times and make sure you are putting out the dishes as quickly and efficiently as possible
- Coordinate between stations to make sure that food from either of the 2 stations is to be timed correctly so that all entrees arrive simultaneously and appetizers arrive first with ample time for the customers to enjoy them.
- Deep clean thoroughly at the end of each night, which may include some or all of the following: o Flipping containers so that oldest food is on top (first in, first out) o Cleaning inside and outside of stations thoroughly o Cleaning flat top with grill brick o Cleaning range burners and surrounding stainless steel surfaces with degreaser o Sweeping and mopping the kitchen o Washing dishes, cutting boards, and trays o Restocking stations fully with all necessary meats, vegetables, sauces, tortillas etc.
